PRAXIS Clinic – A Training Site for NP Students (Nurse Practitioners in Primary Care)
We are pleased to announce that the PRAXIS family health clinics are now accredited training sites by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) and the University of Montreal (UdeM) for primary care nurse practitioner students (EIPSPL).
Since September 11, 2019, the PRAXIS clinics in Terrebonne and La Prairie have welcomed graduate-level students enrolled in the Master’s Program in Nursing Sciences, Advanced Practice in Primary Care option. The clinical placement, lasting 120 days, aims to support the development of skills acquired academically, consolidate nursing judgment, and integrate deeper medical foundations into their clinical reasoning.
A quality learning environment based on integrity, innovation, collaboration, and performance, with cutting-edge technology — this is what PRAXIS strives to offer to primary care nurse practitioner interns and our nurse practitioner candidates.
We are immensely proud to be the first and only private clinical placement site in Quebec and to have the trust of a university recognized for its excellence in training advanced primary care nursing practice. We have the responsibility to train future professionals according to the highest standards of practice, which is both motivating and requires us to continually maintain our level.
The PRAXIS Family Health Clinic was founded to provide rapid access to urgent medical visits and a comprehensive range of centralized, adapted, and quality care services. Quality also comes through continuous education, professional development, and the commitment of our medical staff.
We take a comprehensive and sustainable approach to patient care. Our missions range from health promotion to disease prevention as well as the management of various treatments. Providing ever more comprehensive and quality care to the greatest number, with a long-term vision of health, is the vocation of the PRAXIS Clinic.
