Acupuncture Facelift

cosmetic acupunctureDespite our desire for eternal youth, age always catches up with us: wrinkles and fine lines, reduced muscle tone, dark circles, pigment spots, scars—all too quickly become proof of our life experiences, even when our hearts still feel twenty years old.

Gently slowing the aging process

For those seeking an alternative to medical procedures (surgery, dermabrasion, injections, etc.), this is where the many benefits of cosmetic acupuncture come into play.

A so-called “natural”, gentle, and progressive technique:

  • It gradually increases collagen production, which gives skin its elasticity
  • It increases the flow of blood and QI energy to the facial cells to naturally nourish and hydrate, and to help eliminate toxins
  • Wrinkles result from muscular imbalance: acupuncture tones the muscles that are too loose and relaxes those that are too tight, targeting the wrinkles being treated
  • A wrinkle is an area where circulation is reduced; the needle helps plump the wrinkle, reduce the micro-scar that it is, and activate local circulation
  • It regulates the glands (for skin that is too dry or too oily)
  • It increases the rate of cellular activity, resulting in more revitalized skin
  • It can also help with cellulite and weight loss

Being realistic, acupuncture can help prevent aging, contribute to overall body balance, and soften fine lines and deeper wrinkles—without making them magically disappear.

An effective complement and balance between creams and the scalpel

Compatible with surgical facelifts, cosmetic acupuncture can be used beforehand to prepare the skin for better healing. Afterward, it helps restore suppleness to scarred tissues.

Additionally, acupuncture increases cellular activity in the skin, thereby improving the absorption of nourishing elements from creams.

Is it painful? Is there a risk of infection?

Rest assured, the needles used are 0.2 to 0.15 mm in diameter and are inserted less than 2 mm under the skin, which corresponds to skin thickness. The sensation is like a light, brief mosquito bite. Once in place, patients feel nothing at all or just a slight tingling.

There is no risk regarding hygiene, as the needles are single-use, non-reusable, pre-packaged, sterilized, and disposed of after use.

How many sessions to see results

Our chronological age and the age of our skin do not always match, which is why only after an evaluation and a clear understanding of your expectations can we determine the number of treatments and the expected results.

In general, preventive care can begin as early as age 25-30. Improvement in skin condition and tone usually appears after 2 to 3 sessions. A basic treatment plan for someone aged 40 and over includes 4 to 10 close-together sessions, once a week.

Although the achieved effects are retained, we recommend maintenance with 4 sessions per year, aligned with seasonal changes.

Treatment procedure and duration

Plan for 1.5 hours for the first treatment, which includes an evaluation of the skin’s energetic condition and an overall health assessment according to traditional Chinese medicine.

Treatment sessions thereafter will last 1 to 1.25 hours.
Expect wellness and relaxation:

  • Massage with a “Korean roller” to prepare the skin
  • Gentle skin cleansing
  • Lymphatic drainage and muscle relaxation using the “Mini Lifting” device
  • Needle insertion at acupuncture points or wrinkles (left in place for 20 minutes)
  • Application of magnets to promote circulation under the eyes
  • Stimulation/relaxation of muscular command points with an electric stimulator
  • Manual Vodder lymphatic drainage of the face and neck
  • Application of a quality cream

*Except in rare cases, these treatments do not cause any harmful side effects.
