Bachelor’s degree and over 15 years of practice
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in 2000 at the University of Montreal. Since then, I have worked in private clinics with a diverse clientele ranging from young athletes to retired individuals suffering from more chronic conditions.
Continuing education
Over the years, I have continued my education to develop the most comprehensive approach possible to help people of all ages, including those with more complex conditions. Among the training I have completed, many included an advanced clinical reasoning allowing me to quickly identify the true source of the problem (see, among others: Connecttherapy at ljlee.ca). In 2014, I reached the highest level of qualification in manual therapy, that of fellow (FCAMPT: see manippt.org), and I also hold a certificate from the Quebec Order of Physiotherapists authorizing me to perform spinal and peripheral manipulations.
Who can come see us?
The whole family can benefit from our treatments. Direct access to physiotherapy, that is without a medical prescription, has been possible since the early 1990s. Physiotherapists are trained, among other things, to establish diagnoses related to musculoskeletal problems. Our thorough knowledge of various pathologies allows us to stay alert to issues requiring a medical referral for further testing.
When to consult?
You don’t necessarily need to have suffered an injury or be in pain to consult a physiotherapist. Although we treat all kinds of trauma-related problems (e.g., sprains, car accidents, tendinitis, surgery), we can also help if you notice that, for example, you are functioning less well in your activities, feel weakness, reduced mobility, or are not performing as well as you should in your sports or hobbies.
What can we do for you?
Physiotherapy is not just about applying ice or heat and using devices to relieve pain. When you come for an assessment, we take the time to understand your problem and your goals to apply treatments best suited to your condition. We can work on the joint/neural/myofascial systems, provide strengthening, stretching, and/or control (“stability”) exercises as needed. We are also well trained to give you advice on posture or pain mechanisms so you can better understand the cause of your problem.
In summary, thanks to advanced training, quality time spent with the patient, and a multidisciplinary team on site at Praxis, your problem will be well managed!
Come see me, I can certainly help you!
